A smart speaker is one type of voice-activated device that always works with a voice assistant. It acts as a virtual assistant that reacts to verbally asked questions. Smart speakers can also control other smart home devices by using the built-in virtual assistant features. It works as an information source that offers traffic information, direction, weather report, a dictionary, common household works, playing music, lighting, door locks, security monitoring, and many more. It has a built-in microphone so that the device can activate and take voice request and provides the right action. All types of voice assistants are cloud-based. That means, at first it receives the voice command and then sent it to the cloud server for further processing and lastly the result is channeled back to the speaker. One of its many advantages is, although smart speakers can control many other smart devices, it has a few software updates and new features that come apparently on all smart speakers.
