In pickleball, stacking refers to the deliberate placement of players during doubles matches. Stacking requires one player from the serving team standing on the opposite side of their partner to serve and return shots as opposed to the customary side-by-side placement on the same side of the court. This strategy is frequently employed to improve shooting angles or to take advantage of flaws in the opposition. Depending on their strong hand, players may stack either in a right-handed or left-handed formation with the goal of maximizing their advantages and enhancing court coverage.
